This subtropical anole is naturally found in the mixed subtropical woodlands and forest areas. Adults require only a 10 gallon size enclosure when keeping them captive.
Most will become tame with regular handling. Males can become territorial, separate from other males. Hyperactive and hard to hold. Likes dense foliage to climb.
Use full spectrum lighting 12-14 hours per day. Provide a basking area with access to a cooler zone. Provide several climbing areas on branches, logs, & plants.
Maintain gradient temperatures Day temperature should be gradient from 78 to 88 degrees F. Maintain night temperature range between 70-75 degrees F.
This species requires moderate to high levels of humidity.
Mist the enclosure daily for moisture and high humidity.
This species is a carnivore (meat eater). Dust food with calcium and vitamins. Likes crickets and wax worms. Also eats small insects.
