Raccoons' are a great species to own, but there are times for all keepers when it can go horribly wrong, it proved to me, that the removal of Raccoons off the DWAL, was perhaps not the iwsest of moves.

I owned a pair of Raccoons that came to me as little balls of fluff, and were to be hand reared.

Two years later and hey presto they had hit sexual maturity.

All keepers make one serious error in their lives as keepers of exotics animals, mine was twenty seconds of negligence and a wandering mind, l pulled a twenty pound note from my male Raccoon thinking he was playing, and did not wish to see the note pushed the pond to be decimated!

I never expected the male to turn as quickly as he had/did, for the previous day l had been blowing raspberry's into his stomach
